Hi Beginner and Established- Virtual Assistants, Virtual Service Providers and Virtual Assistant Business Owners,
I know what it’s like spinning your wheels trying to think of the best way to approach someone about your business. Or how to bring it up casually in conversation, only then having to answer the one question many offline business owners ask “What’s a Virtual Assistant?”
The beauty of using Upwork, we get to skip that question.
Because the person on the other end of the request is already looking for us. They get that we’re virtual and know we have the skills they need.
Starting on Upwork is a great booster for your virtual assistant business. When you first start it’s the lifeblood of your business. As you build your portfolio and clients with consistency, you’ll find it being a choice as to whether or not you send out proposals as frequently.
In the Spring of 2008, I started on Elance, now Upwork, doing one-off projects. By the Fall I had one monthly client paying me $200 a month. That one client continued adding more and more responsibilities each month, until eventually it went up to $1200 a month. In the process she referred me to her clients and JV partners. Almost weekly, I was receiving an email, so-and-so gave me your information she said you can help me.
I got another client on Elance and a similar thing happened. Monthly work and referrals. Then another.
Those referrals did not go through Elance, they came directly to me!
I got another client because I responded to a question in an email newsletter. By this time, I knew my stuff and was confident. From that client I got referrals, did coaching, training, managed a virtual team, and more.
When I was growing up there were three things I enjoyed playing the most: office, school, and talking in the mirror with my microphone. Now, I do it and get paid for it!
There’s nothing like the first time you pay cash for a car or see $10,000 in your PayPal account because of YOUR Virtual Assistant Business.
And it all started in 2008 on Elance, now Upwork.
Join me on this training and make a change in how you get new clients using Upwork and jumpstart your virtual assistant business.
